California counties are collaborating for transparency and accountability in law enforcement

Strong and growing

The California Coalition for Sheriff Oversight (CCSO) is made up of representatives from oversight bodies and grassroots organizations in counties that have, are working toward, or have organized community support for having civilian oversight of their county’s Sheriff’s Office.

Together, counties participating in the CCSO are home to more than  60%  of the population of California.

We are in the process of gathering county-level data. Please check back later for detailed county information.

Participating counties:

  • Alameda County
  • Los Angeles County
  • Marin County
  • Monterey County
  • Riverside County
  • Sacramento County
  • San Bernadino County
  • San Diego County
  • San Francisco County
  • San Mateo County
  • Santa Cruz County
  • Sonoma County
